StulteParticipantYou should really punch some holes in the lid or that thing will die in, like, a second.
Seriously though, you’ve got an amazing gallery

Thank you, Stulte. –That one hole isn’t enough? I can’t say as I know the nutritional requirements–maybe I should’ve added a lump of honey-covered coal, anyway, right?

StulteParticipantI honestly didn’t notice that hole. Sorry, I get kinda dumb after work.
Honeycoal works very well, I’ve found. Maybe 200 mg of uranium on Sundays as well. Just as a treat, you know?

Work makes everyone dumb. Uranium, eh? That’s probably why you see more fire-fae and I mostly just see fireflies. They’re mutations! Who knew?

Why, you might ask, was everyone fine with Alien One, that upper-stratopheric hydrogen-extracting alien superhero, rescuing the FREIGHT train instead of the passenger train with 70 passengers when both trestles collapsed?http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/2014hm/AlienOneWithTwoOClockTrain_zpsa9908982.png
Why, indeed! The three remaining boxcars rolled to ELEVEN FEET from smashing into the three-hundred-room hotel. The hotel was only about half full, but still–the insurance people say twice as many people were saved by the motel not being knocked down the mountain.

Recently an inventor managed to create a low-power laser version of an industrial ‘cutter.’ With accuracy programmable to molecule widths, he realized his production capital problem was over. He started an art studio and was glad when a celebrity sculptor showed an interest. A custom-fitted kevlar suit, a welding helmet, and a prototype called a ‘repulsor,’ named for it’s ability to reverse the electron-shell attraction, were all that was necessary to open a public art studio and begin teaching a class in ‘Custom Repulsor Carving.’The beautiful Riala made some amazing carvings, but one result was, well, repulsive.

–Hopefully that little problem will get worked out soon.February 23, 2014 at 4:35 am #38055
Mad JackParticipantYeah – those kitschy figures of animals really are repulsive! … *wait* … Wasn’t that what you meant? Oo

Not quite–on a related note, unclassified radiation CAN have unpredictable results on human skin.

“Georgia Miller?”
“Yes?”
“Your Art Final is about to begin.”
“Yes, I know that. What I don’t know is where it’s being held. Could you–?”
“Your exam will be here with me. Your professor was in a traffic accident this morning, and I’ve been put in charge of it.”
“Oh. Is he all right?”
“I haven’t been told. But the office will know by 2:00 this afternoon if you check in. Now. I have procured a different room for each student to take their exam and locked them in to make sure there is no cheating. There will be paper and a flashlight on your desk to signal me in the hallway if you finish early. You will have two hours to recreate as much of the Mona Lisa as you can. Here are your art supplies–“
“Uhhhh-hhhhh–” [thud]

(Kimono-pieces-misused contest.)
http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/KimonoDecor_zpscb25d550.png
Explanations.
The chair cushion embroidered with the dragon is the lower skirt part. The tangled tie is the bansai tree with some Energy leaves added. The pot is the ‘tunic front’ of the kimono with stripes masked on (flag insignia.) The hairpiece and styrofoam stand are all of a piece. They are the fuzzy-looking belt-topped piece slimmed a bit. The flowy tanglable-looking sleeve became the head of a dragon. This particular dragon is impersonating a wall sculpture owned by a friend of mine approximately to scale. As a side note, the desk has an additional back leg I think makes it look more correct. The extra leg is made of an alien head.February 24, 2014 at 3:49 pm #38186

Thank you. I’ve peeked at yours too–you and Delirious Al concoct most of my favorite combos.
Meta-notes: When I add *xx at the beginning or end of an entry, xx is an abbreviation for which contest it’s entered in. If there is no abbreviation, then it’s on MY blog. At some point several of my links may go down one at a time, as I am rearranging my Photobucket account. I plan on eventually adding more Blue Moan episodes to the same post entry the first two are in, and I am separately working on coming posts for a pictorial representation of a piece that started life as a Poetry Slam entry and more pics for Zephyr before I get back to finish writing it. These things, as well as being Mr. Mom and unemployed and trying to GET employed are taking me away from doing as much here as I’d like. I hope to be employed in time to properly celebrate my 2000th thread view. Here’s hopin’!

Herr DParticipantFor the division known affectionately as “the Whirling Coppers,” staying on one’s post is a bit harder than it sounds.

Herr DParticipantOver on Linea’s thread, Linea used a phrase that I couldn’t leave alone . . .
http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/2014hm/BatOfRealityForLinea_zps54da0944.png
. . . now I guess it just needs an origin story?March 6, 2014 at 7:09 pm #38614
mattisagamerParticipantHerr, you always have the wackiest of creations! I mean that in a good way! They’re witty and funny!
March 7, 2014 at 8:09 am #38629
Herr DParticipant@mattisagamer: Thanx! I wish I had the time to maintain the level of wackiness on this thread with the quality I’m capable and the sheer volume of ideas I’m–
I just had a few more. Does artist’s block come in cans? I need a dose.
@ev1: PM me, please, if you were familiar with the look and work of Bob Seger, but didn’t get the references or see he was the source of inspiration. Human faces ARE very hard, and I wonder what specifically would have made the difference to that subgroup of people. (What specific differences would have clued them in.)
