fuzztoneMemberAnother character I’ve been working on…. I think it’s finished (as much as these things ever are!)
Andrea Anokhin, aka Eraser.
Andrea’s powers lie with her hypnotic gaze, which places her victims in a trance-like state, extremely open to suggestion and influence. Andrea’s normal MO is to influence senior figures in the world of finance and business into acts of industrial espionage, in order to deliver advantage to her paymasters. When caught, they inevitably can offer no reason for their actions, and seemingly have no memory of Andrea. It is suspected that she has created several hundred “sleeper” agents who are currently in place in Government, Security and Business circles around the world, all unaware of the actions which she has left programmed into their sub-conscious.

Dionne JinnMemberWow! How did you do that background? It’s amazing! Is it really done with HM3?

fuzztoneMemberHiya. It is all done in HM3, honest. The only thing I ever do outside of it is to crop the pictures (I find that it’s difficult to get everything lined up straight!).
That background is just based on items from the Background/Shapes section. It’s a simple coloured backdrop (third item page, first row, second column), which I’ve then overlayed with several layers of the concentric circle background (second page, second row, fourth column). Make the first layer the biggest, and reduce the colour opacity to a really low figure (the results vary hugely depending on what you select, so you’ll have to play around). Typically I’d do something like Colour 1 0%, Colour 2 10%, Colour 3 2%. Add another of the same item, but reduce the size by around 5% on each axis. Keep adding layers and you’ll see that odd effects start to appear as each added layer increases the colour strength.

fuzztoneMemberWill add the .txt file for the background. Knock yourselves out! I’ve also noticed (although I haven’t added it to a character yet) that interesting effects can be made by layering low colour strength items over others – seems to be the possiblity for metallic colours and so on, which is interesting.

fuzztoneMemberTwo characters for the price of one pose….? I might well let this one out for the community to play with (.txt file linking notwithstanding).
Ruslana Makarov, aka Stormbird.
According to legend, the Stormbird sings just before the deluge begins. The name started as a joke; now it seems more appropriate than ever. Ruslana is a leading agent in the Russian National Security Bureau (NSB), and runs the London field office, with particular responsibility for mutant-related criminal activities affecting Russian interests. She is a mutant herself, and exhibits highly-developed psychokinectic skills, including levitation, telekinesis and short-range teleportation. She is also a skilled agent, well versed in espionage field craft, hand to hand combat and firearms.
The weapon she’s holding in the picture is a specially designed NSB personal defence weapon, which fires two kinds of ammunition. The first is a high-velocity round capable of piercing body armour; the second a low-velocity incendiary bullet which ignites inside the target, overcoming the powers of rapid self-healing exhibited by many mutants.
Note: you may need to open the image in a separate browser tab to see all of it – seems like there’s a width limit on these here forums…!

fuzztoneMemberI realised that I had a space in one of my hero teams for an elemental/energy type character – so here she is…
Solaris, aka Demi Asomoah
Solaris is a mutant who derives her powers from the ability to absorb and store vast amounts of solar energy. She can then use this energy as a basis for her psychokinetic powers, including levitation / flight, and heat/light energy attacks. Unlike those mutants who derive their energy from their own physical resources, Solaris needs to constantly top up her energy levels by exposure to sunlight. Consequently her effectiveness is much reduced at night, or in enclosed areas where sunlight does not penetrate. Her mood and personality is also much affected by the weather and the availability of sunlight, and her dependence on unpredictable weather phenomenon has led her to become almost pagan in her devotion to the Sun.
She’s pictured here welcoming the sunrise after a long and dark night.
