Dionne JinnMemberI don’t see what is the issue with “original” characters which make a clear textual reference to Star Wars, with races and such. It has a role playing system, which encourages people to create OCs and stuff. They also encourage things like Wookieepedia and even the Fanon Wiki.

FRMParticipanti’m actually not sure about it, but i’ll play it safe. (didnt you say that your characters were jedi? whatever.) i hope this ends the discussion in this thread. i need to save space for complements on my characters. 🙂

Dionne JinnMemberYep. So if you end up in trouble because of your pics, I’ll be right in the middle of the same mess myself… But I agree, maybe this conversation would be better to have somewhere else.

KaldathKeymasterHere is the issue. Jeff has in the past made money off of Heromachine ( selling copies of the program himself, then selling it to UGO ) and plans on making some money with it again in the future ( ads, and selling offline version ). Having made money off the program he then opens himself up to legal issues with regards to Copyright protected works and concepts. Its not that Lucas would or would not sue over these images, it is that the potential is there for a lawsuit. Jeff does not want to get sued even if he had a air tight defense against said suit it is not the road he wants to travel.
I have spoken to Jeff about this, and he is seeking further advice on the issue so for the time being until he gets this clarified himself the pictures themselves can stay, but SW terms and references can not be used in there descriptions .

FRMParticipanthere’s an xray view of a supersuit i made.

HarlekinMemberFor the long shadow is a good idea. A little advice. The shadow addition is to regular. If you seen well the shadows are not regulars. If you change the scale a little is seen more realistic, but first view this is a very good picture. I like it.

Shock is silent and easily angered, while Crackdown likes to talk, and is cool-headed, making for a well-balanced team.
