DiCicatrizParticipantThanks everybody!
Continuing… When last we met our heroes, they were in the middle of an intense conflict with an army of mind-controlled young people and Ziva, the unwilling telepathic accomplice of cult leader Ezra Simon.
The members of Spectrum are trying hard not to hurt the dozens of people attacking them, acting agains their will as they are, and are having difficulty doing so without getting hurt themselves. Meanwhile Yrys is focusing his abilities on breaking through the cell holding Dovev. Puto gets blindsided by a couple of soldiers and Safezone is about to do something drastic to protect him when all of a sudden… the soldiers stop. They suddenly drop to the floor unconscious. Ziva’s eyes go blank and she does the same.
They’re too late, Ezra has absorbed their psyches and now has the power he needs to overwrite Dovev’s indomitable will. The cell explodes outward. Dovev stands liberated, but wholly under Ezra’s control. With his first command Ezra compells to Dovev to compell all living things save for himself and Ezra.
Yrys, in a rage goes, after Ezra, unleashing the full potential of his spirtual abilities. Ezra reveals his true physical form. Spectrum moves in formation to surround Dovev. His physical powers is astounding. Even his breathing sends seismic vibrations through the air. They cannot contain him, although they will try…
Ezra in his true physical form.
Dovev under Ezra’s control
Bonus, an angry Yrys:

DiCicatrizParticipantTo cap off my Spectrum stories, I have one more image. The establishment of Enigma (our Questioning representative) to a definite orientation and the finalization of his abilities.
Context for his new abilities:
The culmination of the battle is Dovev’s brutal take down of the team. Nothing they throw at him even slows him down. Eventually Enigma gets caught in Dovev’s sights, in between alters, and finds himself defenseless. Apex, desperate to protect Enigma, taps into the maximum potential of his power and manages to land a few devastating blows against Dovev, actually winding him. But the extradimensional onslaught recovers quickly and bats Apex away with ease, slamming him into a neighboring wall and breaking several bones. At this moment, fearing Apex to be dead, Enigma realizes he’s in love with him, and doesn’t care about his gender or what orientation he himself needs to be labeled with. All that matters is his connection to this one person. With his ambivalence having come to an end, the sentient energy within Enigma finally adheres to his physiology and changes him one last time. His heart burns away, replaced with a pulsing reactor of cosmic energy. Enigma is no more, he is… Aperture!
With that Enigma no longer identifies as Questioning, and instead becomes representative of different orientation that is rarely a part of the larger LGBTIQQAA acronym
Pansexual- A person who identifies as pansexual feels sexual attraction, sexual desire, romantic love, or emotional attraction toward persons of all gender identities and biological sexes. (This is slightly different from bisexuality, despite the obvious similarities)
Aperture- TJ takes this new code name based on his new abilities. His finalized power-set stems from the cosmic energy reactor that replaces his own heart. Instead of blood his circulatory system courses with an energized plasma that delivers this energy throughout his body. He can use the energy to augment his strength and durability to superhuman levels. He can pool the energy and fire devastating pulses from his chest cavity, but overuse of this ability depletes his energy reserves and leaves him weak and vulnerable.

DiCicatrizParticipantMoving on to a new universe, new stories, new characters.
This next idea is a Heaven/Hell epic involving a young man who becomes the central focus for both forces, with the power to change the tide in favor of whichever side get a hold of him first. He’s accompanied by group of friends and family who aid him in escaping their sights.
First up, as introduced in NH’s Savior thread:
NEXUS
Name: Ulises Monroy
Age: 21
Species: Hybrid
Powers/Abilities: Nexus is a product of the union between an archangel and a demon. His soul is a conduit for all demiurgic energy in the Universe. He can manipulate reality on a scale matched only by the Immensity. Using his abilities to their full potential puts a great strain on him, withering him from the inside out. He could potentially die from overuse of his natural talents. Thus he relies mainly on lore and ritual, taught to him by his adoptive father, as a safe means of channeling his power. He primarily uses his abilities on a low-level, levitating himself, short-range teleportation, telepathic intuition, and moderately powerful telekinesis.
Bio:
Ulises was born to the Archangel Samael and his demonic lover, Abaddon. In his birth he briefly merged the Three Planes, alerting all to his presence. The boundaries of Hell were greatly weakened. It was an unprecedented occurrence, one that ushered a frantic manhunt for the couple from both sides once they realized what Ulises was capable of. Samael left his child in the care of Hector Monroy, a Catholic priest plagued with prophetic visions. At one point many years ago, Hector had attempted suicide, but Samael appeared before him and bade him to go on living. Thus Samael called in his favor. They left Ulises and disappeared afterwards. Hector doesn’t know what became of them.
Father Monroy established a small mission in Baja California, raising Ulises among a sparse population of clergy and ranchers. He hired an old associate to act as a secret bodyguard, keeping to the shadows and preventing rumors of Ulises from spreading… by any means necessary. Ulises remained blissfully unaware of the horror that awaited him…May 5, 2013 at 6:13 pm #23814
DiCicatrizParticipantNow for Nexus’s father figures. “Bastard of three fathers” becomes a go-to insult from one of Nexus’s antagonists
First up, his biological parentage.
SAMAEL
Name: The Corporeal
Age: Endless
Species: Archangel
Abilities:
As one of the Seven, Samael is among the strongest of all the Ethereals. He prefers to use brute physicality, as opposed to the elemental manipulations preferred by his fellows. He is called the Corporeal because his physical form is the strongest of the Seven. He can create waves of force just by the motions of his body. There are none who exist or who shall exist that surpass his strength and durability.
Bio:
Samael was one of the original Seven, formed from the Immensity at the beginning of time when the cosmos was formless. He was ever loyal to Michael and the Metatron, even through the First Conflict and Lucifer’s Fall from Grace. He would lead the skirmishes on the Physical Plane whenever the Infernals managed to breach the boundaries of their prison. It was there that he first met Abaddon. The demon was among the first to come close to matching him physically. They formed a rivalry, and from that rivarly grew respect, empathy, and to both of their surprise, attraction. Love. Samael began to meet with Abaddon in secret. Over decades they grew closer to each other until the terrible moment when they consummated their relationship.
Their natures were both male, but the biological binary that exists in men and demons does no exist in angels. The Seven are male-gendered in appearance and manner, but their bodies are intersex, neither one or the other. Samael and Abaddon conceived a child. Ulises was born.In the frantic months that followed, Samael and Abaddon tried to remain ahead of both forces and keep their child safe. Desperate, Samael recalled the priest he had uttered revelation to. Years before he had inspired the clergyman to continue his work. Made him aware of the true nature of things. If anyone would understand and remain neutral, it would be him. The pair left Ulises in his care, Samael forming a series of seals within the tiny boy’s body to conceal and restrain his innate power. Then they would have to disappear, to insure his safety.
When the pair was alone, Samael ambushed Abaddon. His heart breaking, Samael used the utmost of his abilities and obliterated Abbadon’s physical body. As a traitor to his people, Abaddon would be banished to the deepest level of the Pit. He would be frozen, free from torment and safe from the wrath of the Ethereals. He would be safe and alive. Samael knew that his brothers would not stand for this. He ascended, feigning that he had killed Ulises with his barehands and banished the demon as penance. Metatron voiced his judgment. Samael would be cast back into the Immensity, disembodied and re-integrated. As the energy washed over him, Samael was happy to die in the knowledge that the two beings he loved most were safe.
ABADDON
Name: The Eviscerator
Age: Endless
Species: Fallen
Abilities: Abaddon is incredibly strong and durable. His reflexes and agility are unparalleled. He was of the warrior caste before his fall from grace and is one of the most skilled combatants in any plane of existence.
Bio:
Abaddon is among an elite class of demons who were not created or born in Hell, but rather existed in a state of grace at one point, being angels until the First Conflict and the subsequent Fall. He was a principal soldier of Lucifer and often spear-headed breaches from Hell and assaults on the Physical Plane. During his long military career, Abaddon frequently encountered Samael. No others could match him, and thus Abaddon fought one on one with him on uncountable occasions. When he developed for Samael and they began their clandestine relationship he began to doubt his place in Lucifer’s army and the Eternal War.
When Ulises was born, Abaddon hoped to escape with his family, to hide in a corner of the universe and live out eternity untouched, in supreme happiness. He had thought Ulises was only to be temporarily placed in that human’s care. A situation he did not agree with but had neither the time nor the patience to argue with Samael about. When the couple left the human with their child, Abaddon began to map out a strategy. They were strong. They could-
But then. The hand on his neck. Samael. Tears in his eyes and whispering meaningless apologies, the archangel destroyed Abaddon’s body. Abaddon plummeted deep into the Pit. Lucifer himself greeted him. He had such plans for the errant soldier…
Now for the man who raised Ulises. His present father:
FATHER
Name: Hector Monroy
Age: 72
Abilities: Father Monroy is an incredibly skilled sorcerer. He is well-versed in various schools of lore and ritual. As one of the few individuals able to see beyond the veil he is able to tap into veins of magic that others in his craft are unable to. He can use this skill for various effects, although he excels more in defensive spells. Coupled with the revelation granted to him by Samael, Father is one of the few human beings on the planet able to stand with eternals on equal footing.
Bio:
Hector Monroy was at one point in his life a man without purpose. He was to ordained in his early 30’s but the love of a woman made him doubt whether or not he could truly pledge himself body and soul to a higher power. The decision was taken for him when the love of his life was taken from him. An accident. Out of anyone’s control. Hector was despondent. How could he pledge himself to a being that had allowed this to happen? At the edge of sanity, he prayed for forgiveness and prepared to end things himself. He would have, had the archangel Samael not heard his prayers and, out of character for him, appeared to the young man. Samael recognized him as a sensitive, one who was in tune with the true nature of things. He gifted Hector with revelation, knowledge of the universe, magic, and profound understanding of the unseen forces of the world. This gave Hector the strength to continue. He spent the ensuing years practicing faith, but organizing in the shadows, meeting other individuals with perceptions like his, hoping to help stem the tide of supernatural creatures flowing into our world.
It was more than two decades later that the archangel came to Hector once more, in need of aid. Hector agreed to take the child, hoping to preserve his innocence as long as possible. He loves Ulises as if he was his own son and would do anything to protect him.

DiCicatrizParticipantI had a blast with all the gender-bending so I’ll probably do some more in the future, but for now here’s another character from the Nexus universe.
ISHMERAI
Name: Aryeh Lev
Age: 37
Species: Enhanced Human
Powers/Abilities: Aryeh is an expert combatant, having trained specifically to combat beings of supernatural origin. His blood has been blessed through ritual, granting him an enhanced physiology that boosts his reflexes/agility/dexterity/stamina to post-human levels. In addition to the physical enhancements, Aryeh’s blessed blood is caustic to Infernals. His right eye and right hand have been replaced by pieces of living hallowed metal the hand granting him bursts of superhuman strength and the eye able to see across multiple spectra and through illusions. He is not a proficient magic user, but is able to perform rudimentary summoning seals to give him instant access to an armory of spiritual weaponry. Among his equipment he has reinforced armor that absorbs the energy of impacts, boots that allow him to walk across any surface, and a cloak that can provide him with limited camouflage. His weapon of choice is a bladed pistol that fires ritualized rounds of ammunition with various effects. He keeps different rounds on his belt.
Bio: Aryeh Lev is the surviving son of a longstanding rabbinical line based out of Tel Aviv. His father and grandfather were grooming him to be a successive leader for their community. He was a faithful, kind man, until the tragic day when he and his family were called to perform an exorcism on the youngest son of a notable family. The young man was at the mercy of a powerful dybbuk. Aryeh’s grandfather was killed during the exorcism after was forced to kill Aryeh’s father when the dybbuk possessed him. Aryeh was left with his eye gouged out, his hand missing. Since that day he has devoted himself to the hunting and killing of Infernals and other supernaturals as the mercenary Ishmerai.
Early in his Aryeh encountered Hector Monroy. The priest saved his life from a rogue demon who had managed to breach into the mortal plane and physically incarnate himself. It was the first instance either of them had seen where an Infernal had manifested without the use of a human being as a medium. The boundaries between planes were getting weaker. The Nine Gates were slowly opening. Father Monroy gifted him with his new hand and eye, and gave him the equipment he uses to this day, telling him he would recall the debt one day.
That day came when Father Monroy came to be the guardian of the infant Ulises. Ishmerai wanted to kill the child once he learned its origins and the power it wielded, but he was indebted to Father Monroy and deferred to his plan. With that Ishmerai became a silent guardian for the boy. At any odd instance or occurrence surrounding him, Ishmerai would quiet those who caught wind of him. He patrolled the borders of the mission making sure that no Infernal would get close enough to recognize the boy for what he was. After the manifestation of Ulises’s full abilities, Ishmerai joined him and Father Monroy on their journey. He would continue to protect Ulises for as long as was necessary…May 9, 2013 at 5:54 pm #24161
DiCicatrizParticipantTwo more characters from that universe. Important players on either side of the conflict:
First up is Malacoda. A high-ranking soldier demon born within the torturous depths of Hell. He resents Abaddon’s status as a Fallen (Fallen Angels are more powerful than natural demons due to their once celestial nature), and has his own schemes concerning Nexus and the War on Heaven.
This next character is the leader of the Ethereals, the most powerful of the Seven and the only one who can communicate directly with the Immensity. He is Metatron. The Voice. He has no physical form, existing as a harmonic frequency that animates his armor as a means of approximating one.
