dbladeParticipantHello fellow Machiners!
It’s time for another Villainy and Valor Creation Contest. As before I have written a description of a hero or villain and it is up to you to visually interpret that character using Hero Machine 3. After two weeks (Tuesday, December 4th) I will choose my favorite design and the Winner will get a Custom Item created by me (see rules below). I will then submit this item to Jeff for inclusion in Hero Machine.A few guidelines/rules:
1. No limit of entries
2. A full body design is preferable.
3. Feel free to use backgrounds, but they will not affect my final choice. So here we go….
Gigantica
Gigantica is a super villain who has the power to grow to over 16 ft tall, gaining super strength (able to lift 100 tons over her head) and durability (can take a cannon shot in the gut without flinching) in the process. Unfortunately she has a meek personality and is a very poor fighter. Plus she has a strange vulnerability–she is unable to use her powers if she is not touching the ground. When she isn’t in her giant form and running around with the Femme Fattlion she is an expert accountant and businesswoman, helping Madame Malevolent run the financial side of her operations. Gigantica is secretly in love with Madame Malevolent and would do almost anything to protect her. Madame Malevolent suspects that Gigantica is more than just a shapeshifter and believes Gigantica’s powers are elemental in nature. Malevolent hopes to unleash Gigantica’s potential someday but is careful not to push the gentle Gigantica too far.Villainy and Valor Item Creation Rules
1. The Villainy and Valor Contest Winner can choose one new item to be created for any existing category in Hero Machine 3 with the exception of these categories: Backgrounds, Companions. I also reserve the right to exclude monster bodies, but you can try me on this one. Sometimes I will take the bait.
2. The new item must be applicable to the default, front-facing body type. No specialized items for alternate body types (turned head, 3/4 torso, back view, etc…)
3. I reserve the right to ask the Villainy and Valor Contest Winner to pick another item if the request is beyond my ability or inappropriate for Hero Machine 3.
4. Reference images or a really good description must be provided so I can fulfill the request with the minimal amount of heartache and frustration.
So there you have it. As many of you are familiar with my contributions you know I can handle a wide range of art requests so don’t let the guidelines scare you. I do have limitations (damn you, Human Hair!!) so please be understanding if I have to decline a request. As a special incentive anyone who does all 5 entries in this Femme Fattalion set of villains (Neurotica, Gigantica, Ms. Manga, Madame Malevolent, Evil M henchwoman) will get to request a Mask Custom Item.
So even if you don’t win one of the 5 main prizes, you’ll be able to guarantee yourself a little something just by entering every one of the Femme Fattalion contests.November 20, 2012 at 8:32 pm #14011

Herr DParticipantMechanics questions for you dblade: If she’s holding something heavy and jumps, she basically needs to dodge the item, drop the item, or react quickly as she touches down? And, by touching the ground, shoes or artificial flooring, or being above a basement don’t cause a problem, do they? Helps my imagination to center.

Once she loses contact with the ground by jumping, she begins to shrink back to normal. It’s not instantaneous so she has a little bit of time to react (a few seconds). Technically she could jump with the heavy object and it would continue in the trajectory she was going since she had already exerted her super strength to give it motion, but she would shrink down as she flew through the air. With her massive leg strength she could make some impressive leaps but she would shrink in mid-air.
As long as the object or surface she is on is in contact with the ground she is okay. If she was on an airplane in flight she would be unable to trigger her power, but once it landed her connection to the earth would be reestablished and she could use her power as normal.

JR19759KeymasterOk, here’s my entry. Obviously the costume isn’t as inventive as djuby’s but I had fun creating it.

I decided to play up the Meek Businesswoman Aspect of the character with my rendition.

djubyParticipantGigantica-Take 2: Aware of Gigantica’s attraction to her, Malevolent dresses her in a sexualized fashion, as a subtle suggestion that the feeling is mutual. A simple, but effectibe way of controlling her.

CKnapParticipantI’ll be joining in on this one, just kind of having a mind block on costume ideas at the moment.

WeilynMemberI really wanted to spend some more time on this, but my internet connection has been dead for over a week, and I suspect it will die again very soon.
Anyway, here’s my take; exploring the trickiness of shape-shifting.

Herr DParticipantThat meekness was what grabbed me. Trying not to destroy a bridge might mean she’d have to wade UNDER it. Interesting challenge not just for the pose, but the way a person changes their facial expression. It looks like I won’t finish my second revision, so:

By the way, as an interesting point on the subject of hugeness, somebody messed up a link advertising on one of these headers. You can enter a contest with your “cute kid 12′ ” !! Only twelve-foot-tall cute kids?! Zoinks! [yeh, they meant ’12]
