carew12ParticipantI’ve finally gotten around to coming over here. Here is a link to my old thread for anybody interested in seeing it;
I’m gonna start off with one of my more developed concepts, The Academy.
The worldwide peace-keeping force known as Beacon created a school for the training and education of individuals who have been deemed to have the potential to become the next big hero. Beacon assembled a group of mentors including the heroes Zero and Silver-back and Beacon agents Kestrel and Cypher at the new base, Academy Tower situated on the coast of San Francisco in order to help in the education of the heroes. The operation was organised by Shelby Kinross, a high ranking member of Beacon. She along with the mentors chose who had the potential to be something big. After the list was compiled the students were assembled and the lessons began.
Main team – Left – Right
Weather Girl, Hyper-Girl, Ghost, Tricoloure, Chill, Skip-Rat<span class=”bbcode_spoiler”></span>
The Ghost was Created by the now defunct Department 0. When Beacon soldiers were clearing out a previously unknown base in the Alps they came across the boy now known only by ‘Ghost’. The boy exhibited strange powers and even stranger, a striking resemblance of the hero Zero, who himself gained his powers via experimentation from Department 0. The boy, as it turns out, was a clone of Zero and was created only 4 years ago, despite his teenage aprearence. Zero, who aids in the training of the Academy children looks over Ghost as a guardian figure. Ghost has a generally positive attitude and is quick to try new things.
I chose to give him a positive outlook on life, as opposed to characters like X-23 and modern Superboy, who are too angsty to enjoy.

Andrea Kinross is the adopted daughter of high-ranking Beacon officer and headmistress of the Academy Shelby Kinross. From an early age, even before the emergence of her powers she was groomed by her mother to be a future member of Beacon. But when her powers finally appeared at age 16, she was quickly entered into a program that would become the Academy. When the decision came for the Academy to begin, she was tasked with personally offering a group of young heroes the chance to join the first class of the Academy. When on missions Andrea often comes to odds with Hyper-Girl in making field decisions as she offers a more tactical and military approach to conflict, while Hyper-Girl offers a more experienced and ‘do now, think later’ point of view.
<span class=”bbcode_spoiler”></span>
Aiden McKinney prowled the streets of Belfast fighting crime and attempting innocents. When recruited by the Academy and seeing the sheer power of fellow team-mates, he felt extremely useless in team missions. He was even looked down on by team-mate Chill. But when battling the mega-villain Earth-Master, he exhibited extreme willpower when standing up to oppose him, even when the rest of his team where struck-down and held him off, buying time for mentors Zero and Kestrel aided by Beacon troopers to arrive and defeat the villain. This earned the acceptance of Chill and confidence in taking part in team missions.
For anyone not from Ireland, the term skip-rat is a common insult and not a random pairing of words.
<span class=”bbcode_spoiler”></span>
Hyper-Girl, or Carrie Wilson is your average teenage girl, obsessed with the next teen heart-throb, gossiping, putting on spandex and super-punching bad-guys. Inheriting her powers from her father, Hyper-Man, she fought alongside him as his sidekick against the forces of evil. But soon became her own hero when she began maturing during her rebellious teenage years. She eventually came into contact with Weather-Girl and was extended an invitation to join the Academy and accepted. She often butts heads with Weather-Girl on making decisions during team missions.
<span class=”bbcode_spoiler”></span>
Damien Marsh, much like class-mate Tricoloure, is a third-generation hero. His grandmother, the Frost-Maiden, had complete control over her ice manipulation powers, but suffered from an illness that doctors could not determine the origin of and died of this. Her daughter and Chill’s mother Frost-Maiden II had less control over the powers and the illness that came with it was twice as bad, killing her at the age of only 40. When Damien was born, he had a sickly blue tint to his skin and unnaturally cold. He began to exhibit the symptoms of thee illness, his mother seeking to halt his slow deterioration went to Cypher, hero and Damien’s future mentor, for help. He created a mechanical breathing apparatus that prevented the illness from killing him, with the cost that he cannot use his powers without the use of his specialised gun and hidden-gauntlets. He was approached by Cypher following his mothers death to become a member of the Academy, which he accepted. He is the groups outcast and is hostile at time due to the memory of his mothers death still fresh on his mind.

VampyristParticipantVery nice team, they are all fantastic and have a lot of character to them, as well as colors.

fuzztoneMemberI love Weather Girl. Storm could learn a great deal from her: a decent mac and a strong brolly is what you need!

carew12ParticipantThe Academy mentors are a carefully selected group of people, each mentor is there for a specific purpose. As well as educating and training the students, the mentors assign and assist the team on group missions.
[L-R] Cypher, Zero, Kestrel, Silverback, Shelby Kinross
Jon Fulton was a child genius and was world-famous. Through his new-found fame, Jon and his family came into wealth and moved to the rich ‘Keep’ district in Haven City. As he grew older, his computer-like mind began to develop further. He could soon connect his mind to nearby machinery, turning things on and off, surfing the internet without a computer. He also developed the ability to create hard-light structures to serve as armor, weapons or a hover-pad to travel on. He eventually came into the employ of Beacon, becoming the organisations chief technologies officer.
Zero, or Jason One, is one of the surviving subjects of the mysterious Department 0’s God-Maker program. The group would kidnap children from poor families in order to create a powerful super-soldier. Of the 200 children put through the tests only 96 of which survived. Even less survived the process of granting them powers, leaving only 20 children. When Department 0 was shut the children that were not evacuated and taken with the escaping scientists were taken into Beacon’s care. One of which was the child who would become Jason One. He was raised to be a great hero and control his powers of gravity-manipulation. He would later don the Zero costume and fight crime alongside future wife, Kestrel.
Fiona Foster was one of Beacon’s top pilots and the last surviving member of their elite ‘Blue-Strikes’ air-force. When on a mission to deliver Beacon soldiers and Zero to apprehend the villain Dr. Pi, known for his human-animal mutate minions. His experiments to create more efficient and powerful minions led him to lure them to his island and capture them to run tests on. The team were ambushed with Fiona being kidnapped. Pi spliced her genes with that of a birds, granting her great wings, but before he could brainwash her into complete obedience Zero and the remaining Beacon troops rescued her and brought Pi in. After weeks of recovery and training she became the Kestrel.
Fred Savage was once a world-class mercenary, but after suffering a spinal injury after falling from a height during a hit, he was rendered paraplegic. He was soon contacted by Beacon offering to return his mobility in return for his services. Reluctantly accepting the offer Fred donned the mechanical ‘silverback’ suit. Taking his suits namesake he served as a member of Beacon.
Trained to be cold, ruthless and apparently sarcastic, Shelby Kinross was trained by her father, Harry Kinross, to become her successor as head of Beacon. For the time-being though she was placed as head of the Super-Human (and otherwise) department of the organisation. It was her decision to establish the Academy and so became head-mistress.

carew12ParticipantIntroducing… The Wild-Child!
Jennie Quimby came from a rich family. While on safari with her family in Africa, she was kidnapped by a band of poachers and sold to the mysterious Cult of Kantuiki. The cultists worship a great beast with the speed and grace of a gazelle, the strength and durability of an elephant and the hunting skills and courage of a lion. The cult summoned the Kantuiki and placed it inside the body of the young girl. The next thing Jennie remembered was waking up in the safari park she was kidnapped from. In reality she shifted into the form of Kantuiki, slayed her captors and fled. After being reunited with her family she returned home to England and sought the help of witch Cassie Nightchylde to rid her of her ‘ailment’. But alas, her efforts were unsuccessful. Jennie’s parents were then contacted by Beacon, offering assistance in controlling her new power if she was to attend the Academy, an offer they quickly accepted.

carew12ParticipantIntroducing the Hornet. Former thief Aaron Collins used his size-changing powers to break into the lab of Cypher and stole a helmet that allowed him to summon and control a swarm of bees, wasps and hornets. He also came into a gravity-belt, allowing him the power of flight. He currently operates as an enforcer to anyone who will pay. He is a member of the Fearsome Five.

carew12ParticipantOnaroth, the Lord of Eternal Frosts. An ancient and long forgotten god once worshiped my the Ituchin tribe in Canada. Onaroth, forbidden from walking the Earth, chooses an avatar to do his bidding and protecting his people. After his avatar Eltrach the Cold disobeyed him, he removed his powers and left him alone in the tundra. Onaroth then recruited Anna Laurent, a descendant of the now whiped out Ituchin tribe to become his new Avater. Taking the name of Blizzard, Anna fights to protect the innocent and serve her masters will.

carew12ParticipantArron Frank aka Longshot fights crime using his unnatural marksmanship and hand-to-hand prowess. Longshot often finds himself battling villains such as the Hornet and The Freak, both have affected his private life in a negative way. Hornet, after suffering defeat at Arron’s hand he followed him home and attacked him when he was unarmed landing him in hospital for weeks. The Freak caused the accidental death of his Arron’s girlfriend during an attempted bank robbery. Along with his falcon, Arroe he has been a mainstay in the Guard, a team of heroes residing in New York city.

carew12ParticipantThanks FRM
The Freak was once an incredibly smart scientist. He created what he thought was an elixir to excel his physical and mental attributes to the highest a human can achieve. Instead, the elixir reduced his mental capacity, leaving him incredibly stupid and the inability to speak. He also grew in height and strength grossly mutating his appearance. Giving himself the name Freak, he took to the streets as hired muscle. He is a member of the Fearsome Five.

carew12ParticipantFollowing his banishment to the tundra, Eltrach the Cold was beginning to freeze to death. Using the last ounce of energy he had he summoned Anihk the Bargainer. Anikh returned his powers, and more in return for his soul when he eventually passed on. With his new powers of sorcery, Eltrach has been a thorn in the side of any avatar Onarath creates.
