When the hero Countdown finally defeated the mega-villain Chronos, he left the now depowered maniac stranded in the Paleolithic Era. Countdown returned to his present day, having finally fulfilled his life’s mission and avenged his many fallen comrades. But the danger was not over…Chronos was found by a roaming tribe of Neanderthals, and after being welcomed into their group and learning to act according to their customs, he fathered a daughter with one of their women. This girl was called Deej’voo by the tribe elders, a word which meant “two creatures in one body”. By this time, Chronos had set aside his mad quest for power and resigned himself to a life of peace and atonement.
But the little girl almost immediately started to show signs of strangeness. She would disappear for days at a time and then suddenly show up unscathed but unwilling to explain her absence. Some of the Neanderthals would witness her disappearing into thin and and then re-appearing elsewhere. When Chronos heard of this, he realized that somehow his former time manipulation power had transferred into his daughter. He tried to warn her of the dangers of the power, telling her his own chilling life story as a tale of caution. Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect. Deej’voo began to believe herself to be the rightful heir to the throne of Time itself. Since then, she has grown into one of the most powerful forces of evil ever to exist.
When she showed up in his time, Countdown realized that the threat of Chronos was far from over, and he began to train a new team of Clocksmen to help him stop her.

During his twenties and thirties, Drayton was a solo hero named Deluge, a fierce fighter and tough-loving father of a rebellious son. But later in his mid-life stage, he saw that his strength was weakening bit by bit and he decided to form a team of superheroes. He based the group on the signs of the Zodiac, and each member would display qualities representing a different astrological sign. He then became Aquarius, the water bearer. His son Lawrence grew up to become the supervillain Fathom, displaying half of Drayton’s powers. Lawrence at some point in his misadventures fathered two daughters, one of whom Drayton was able to rescue, and one he lost to evil. Drayton raised his granddaughter River emotionlessly and sternly, allowing her little freedom or personal space and always looking on her with a disapproving eye. When she discovered that he was a powerful superhero and that she had acquired a quarter of his powers, it was decided that she would join the hero team the Defenders. Like his fellow team member Bombcat, Ryder wears a suit that sets off explosions. But his suit works a little differently. Ryder carries a pouch full of tiny bombs which he can distribute around the city or throw in a pinch. There are buttons all over his suit, each of which is the detonator trigger for a specific one of his bombs. Only he knows which button goes to which bomb, so if he is ever apprehended or killed it would be nearly impossible to disarm the bombs.Pictures:

Harland was once a Navy Seal, well-versed in underwater espionage and demolition. But the thrill of his patriotic friends did not seem to course through him, so he left the service and went to work as a hired aqua-terrorist. To avoid capture, Harland took on various aliases, all aquatic animals, but the one he uses most is Killer Whale. Harland wears a black wetsuit, and attached to his scuba tank is a booster he designed himself, which propels him swiftly through the deep waters of the oceans. Many electronic explosives are magnetically attached to his suit, for easy access and to avoid dropping any.The Devil Ray Suit is equipped with sonar, as well as the large glider wings, which provide propulsion and hidden torpedoes.
Harland has had many a run-in with undersea superheroes Blue Marlin and Waverunner, but always manages to evade capture.
