When prospective buyers were unsure of the product, an angered Dr. Woodsworth decided to test the toxins on himself in a public demonstration. However, he had grossly miscalculated with the amount to be used, and as a result of over-dosage, the barely intelligent yet strangely cunning Spider was formed.
