The List: Top 10 Storylines From Comics I’d Like To See In Movies

As the superhero film genre grows larger and larger, with more films being put out each year, more characters being introduced to set up new films, the pressure to come up with new, interesting storylines increases. However, there is one good thing about working with comic book characters. They already have great stories from their original medium. Since the comic book movie boom really started back in 2000 we've seen adaptations of Spider-Man No More, Wolverine's Origins, The Galactus Saga, Knightfall, Extremis, Days Of Future Past, Civil War, The Age Of Apocalypse and The Death of Superman, all to varying degrees of success. But there are still classics from Marvel and DC's long histories that, If Done Right (Warner Bros. and Disney, but mostly Warner Bros.!), could make for excellent movies and perfect additions to their cinematic universes. So here are my 10 storylines I'd like to see make it from the comics to the big screen (in no particular order)

The List: Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2017

As I said in the introduction to the poll, next year is looking to be a good year for films. We have the latest additions to the MCU, we get to see the culmination of everything Warner Bros. have been trying (all-be-it shoddily) to build with the DCEU, we have a possible return to form for the X-Men franchise after last years... well I would say Apocalyptically bad film for the joke but it wasn't that bad (close though, but not quite that bad) and the next instalments in some beloved sci-fi series, such as Star Wars and Planet of the Apes. So which film are you guys the most excited about? Well, you voted, so here's the results.

The List: Top 10 Greatest Character Portrayals In Comic Book Movies

Well, you lot liked this one didn't you. Beating last weeks record number of votes and getting more user suggestions than any previous poll, you guys certainly had a lot to say about who you thought was the best at playing superhero on the big screen. And as it would turn out, most of what you had to say was about one particular person, but we'll get to that later.

Honourable Mentions: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (X-Men franchise), Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach (Watchmen), Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange/ Stephan Strange and Tom Holland as Spider-Man/ Peter Parker (MCU), Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon and Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth (The Dark Knight Trilogy)

Top 10 Things Marvel Would Like You To Forget About The X-Men

The X-Men have been going for 53 years at this point. During the over half a century in existence, they grew from a 5 mutant team led by a bald guy in a wheelchair to a huge multinational force containing some of the most recognisable and most iconic characters in the history of comics. Their 1991 main book renumbering X-Men #1 became the best selling individual issue of all time, selling well over 8.1 million copies, and the team have been involved in some of Marvels greatest ever storylines (The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days Of Future Past to name a few). But for all their high points, there's a lot of things about Marvels marvellous mansion of immutable mutants that they'd like you to forget.

The List: Top 10 Marvel Superheroines

So, this poll was an interesting one. There were a lot of good inclusions, some questionable ones (whoever was trying to get all the DC superheroines on the list, you get a sarcastic round of applause for being so amusing) and some very unexpected results.

Considering that Marvel doesn't have a lot of solo superheroines in the same sort of league as those DC has (with most of the entries on the list being most famous for their work in various teams) you would expect the vote to be somewhat close, right? Well...

Honourable Mentions: Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Emma Frost, Elektra

The List: Top 10 Greatest Non-American Comic Book Characters

It's surprising how short of characters this poll was. Less than 20 characters to represent the 193 countries that aren't America. But I guess that's what happens when the largest publishers are all based in a single country and, as you would expect, focus primarily on characters from that country. However, we have got a list and there are some very notable names on it. So without further ado, let's get on to the list shall we.

Honourable Mentions: Captain Britain, Red Skull & Colossus

The List: Top 10 Robots/ Androids In Film And TV

So, the votes are in. Before we get to the list, a quick bit of admin. I've had to disqualify Legion from Mass Effect, which got onto the poll without me realising, due to the fact that Mass Effect is neither a film nor a TV series at the moment, so therefore cannot qualify for a list of the best Robots/ Androids on Film and TV. Also, nobody thought to add C-3PO? I mean, I left him off my original 10 because I already had a Star Wars character, but leaving him out of the running entirely? Really guys?

But with that out of the way, the results are in, each vote has been analysed and we can now present to you your top 10.

The List: Top 10 Pokemon I’m Excited For In Pokemon Sun And Moon

So, the next generation of Pokémon games are to be released a week tomorrow and obviously I was going to do something on them right? I mean, I did for the last 2 pairs of games in the series, so why break a habit. But as this generation isn't introducing too many new mechanics or a new typing, unlike X&Y, (Z-moves are pretty much the only thing), I'm just going to focus on the new Pokémon that are coming with the new games. But obviously I can't cover all of them because that would be too much, so instead I'm just gonna do a list, again why break a habit. So here are the top 10 Pokémon I'm most excited for in Sun and Moon.  NOTE: I'm not including the Ultra-Beasts as it's not confirmed whether they are actually Pokémon or not at time of writing.

Oh and OBVIOUS SPOILER WARNING IS BLATENTLY OBVIOUS!!!!

The List: Top 10 Greatest Alien Races In Fiction

What is "Greatness"? Well, when talking about Popular Culture, you have to judge it on the impact the subject in question has had on our collective mind-set. When you look at the Greatest Musical Artists of All Time, you are more than likely going to see Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Michael Jackson on the list. Likewise with films, you're going to see Casablanca, Gone With The Wind and The Godfather. Whether you like them or not, they have made a huge impression. But then you also have the subjective side to the argument, the placement. Who actually is better, Elvis or The Beatles? Yes, you could answer that by looking at stuff like sales, but you can't quantify a persons reaction to the music. And that is the key factor.

So how to select the greatest alien race in fiction? Do you, a) set out a strict list of criteria that must be met in order to qualify something that is invariably subjective? Or do you b) just let people go with their instincts? Well, we went with the later and now we have our list. Close runners up include, The Flood from the Halo franchise, the Saiyans from the Dragonball franchise, the Kryptonians of DC and the Martians from War Of The Worlds.

The List: Top 10 Greatest Animated Superhero TV Shows Of All Time

It seems that you guys prefer animated superheroes to live-action ones, as this poll got 20% more votes than the previous poll. Or maybe it's just that there have been more superhero 'toons? Either way, we've got our 10, so let's get to it.
