Hopefully everyone is going to find something fun to do this week. It's another random name generator challenge. This time out, I want you to go to this site- http://superhero.namegeneratorfun.com select make a random name and make it gender neutral, then what ever comes up, you do. Great thing about this site is that it not only gives you a name but a small backstory and a power set as well, some of which are brilliant Just to prove this, this is what I got-

You can either follow these suggestions or completely disregard them, but you must use the name. If you do use the backstory and powers, please include them in your post, they're always good for a giggle.

IT"S BACK!

So, New Year, New CDC's and lets kick it off with a bang. This week I'm just going to give you one word and you are free to do what you want with it as a theme. And that word is: Party. I don't care what sort of party, Birthday, New Years, Wedding, Soiree or Raiding party, just so long as it is some variation on the theme. Now, go for it.

So, we did snowmen last week,what festive fun are we having this week? Well, if the title didn't give it away, I might as well say now. This week your task is to find a nice Christmas tree and decorate it. Presents are compulsory (what sort of Christmas tree would it be without presents), but I don't mind how you decorate it otherwise, you can go fairy lights, baubles, tinsel (joke: what do you get if you eat Christmas decorations? Tinsel-itus………….. anyway) and you can have either a star or a fairy on top. Just make it look good. Make it look like the sort of thing you would put up in your house for the festive season.

I know some people think they've twigged as to what this weeks contest is going to be, and I have a feeling they are sort of right. But not exactly right.

So, over the last two weeks I've asked you to come up with characters using older versions of Heromachine (Heromachine 1 and Heromachine 2.5). This week what I want you to do is to redesign those characters using Heromachine 3. However, YOU CANNOT REDESIGN ONE OF YOUR OWN CHARACTERS. Instead you must redesign someone else's entry, preferably more than one persons if you are going to enter multiple times. That's why I said by entering the previous contests you are giving permission for your entries to be used in this contest, so no complaints from anyone please.

This one's going to be interesting. What I want you to do this week is very simple. I want you to do is create a character. They can be anything, hero, villain, alien, male, female, strong-man, speedster or techie, does not matter. BUT, you can only use Heromachine Version 1...

Now, I'm very excited about this one.

For those of you who haven't quite figured it out yet, this week marks the 200th Character Design Contest on the Heromachine blog, counting all of the contests hosted by Jeff, Hammerknight and myself. And, since the 100th CDC was a best-of contest, lets make this one the same.

The rules are simple. Each person gets ONE entry and one entry only. The original submission rules apply, so that's the rules on file naming that were in place when Jeff ran the contests (which will be listed below). You cannot enter a piece that has won a contest before, or made it onto a poll, however, previous contest entries are otherwise allowed. Any entries that do not conform to these rules will be disqualified, and I'm going to be being very very picky about this. ALL the entries will be put into the poll for the week, I have absolutely no say in who goes on the poll, if you enter you're guaranteed a shot at the win and the prize.

Now what is the prize I don't hear you ask because I'm typing this in advance of it being posted. Well, in addition to the usual dblade patented Whiz Bang Item, your winning entry will be immortalised in the Heromachine Hall Of Fame alongside the best artworks produced by the greatest heromachiners of all time.

Oh, and just for the record, as I'm not judging for the poll this week, I'm gonna be entering. No prizes for guessing why I'm excited now.

So, time for the annual Halloween contest and this year, instead of just asking you to design a monster, I thought I'd give y'all the opportunity to be a bit more creative. What I want from you is a duo in the vein of Frankenstien and his eponymous monster, a creature and its creator. The creature can be undead, mechanical or inhuman (e.g. werewolf, swamp creature) but you must include both characters in the same image, much like last weeks contest. However, unlike last weeks contest, no external editing, both characters must be done in the same export from heromachine.

Ok guys, what I want you to do for this weeks contest is create a team of some sort. It can be any kind of team you want, superhero team, sports team, army corp, music band etc. but I must insist that it consists of 2 or more recognisably individual members and that they be identifiable as a team by means of either a shared logo/ motif or by a shared colour scheme. Also, all the members must be submitted in one image, they cannot be submitted individually or you will be disqualified. To make this a bit easier, I will allow the user of programs other than heromachine for you to put the team together in one image, and only to put the team together in one image, any other external editing is not allowed.
