Ok guys, we're on to our final week of the Four Classical Elements theme and, therefore, on to the final element.  Now this one is the most ambiguous of the four in terms of definition. Is it just the earth, as in the ground beneath our feet, does it extend to rocks and therefore mountains and the like, or does it go even further to include plant-life as well? I'll let you decide I think. It's more interesting that way.

The third element in or Classical Elements contest theme, this week I want you guys to create a character or scene that represents air. Now, the first two elements were quite straight forward, but our last two are likely not going to be as simple, so I'll just leave it up to your interpretation on how you handle this contest. Lets just say, it's gonna be a bit up in the air.

Ok, so continuing our classical elements theme, this week we're doing the second element, Water. Therefore, all of your entries must be water themed. So that could be aquatic scenery, water-themed characters, nautical images etc. etc. etc. Just dive in and hope you make a big enough splash.

Ok guys, for this weeks contest we're going to be starting on the theme of the Four Classical Elements. And we're kicking off with fire. So, the idea is simple, you create either a fire themed character or a fire themed image (e.g. a burning building or a campfire). Simple enough right?

Okay guys, going all kinds of throw-back here, well, for me anyway. On the suggestion of Sabrina on last weeks CDC suggestions blog post, we're going to revisit the theme for what was my third contest in charge of the CDC's. What I want you guys to do is create a character or abstract piece that represents an emotion. It can be any emotion, so joy, fear, anger etc. but you can only portray one per picture, unless you're doing ambivalence, in which case, good luck.

So, very simple idea for this weeks contest. What I want you guys to create is a superhero or villain that has a colour themed name and costume. Examples of this would be guys like Green Lantern, Red Tornado, Black Panther etc. so the characters name must include the main colour of their costume. Easy.

It's been a while since we've had a villains exclusive contest. Therefore, you may only enter this contest if you have aspirations towards world domination, an unquenchable thirst for revenge or a insatiable desire for destruction, mayhem and chaos. And your picture must show someone or something that isn't very nice either. Other than that, there are no other rules (apart from the obvious keep it PG and no copyright characters). But other than that, go wild.

Anyway. What I want you guys to do this week is create an image based on Ancient Greece. It can be based around historical events, such as Thermopylae or the ancient Olympics (just no nudity please, let's keep this PG), historical figures, such as Socrates or Alexander The Great (yes he was Macedonian, but he counts) or you can do Greek Mythology, classical heroes, the pantheon or the numerous creatures and monsters of Ancient Greece. Now, I love Greek history, so alongside the usual creativity criteria that I judge by, I will be looking at historical accuracy as well. So don't make the writer of the Iliad yellow skinned whatever you do.

Anyway, basically the idea here is you create a character that has wings. It's that simple. Doesn't have to be a humanoid character mind you, but it has to have wings. (Quick tip, there's a pegasus in the companions section that has some really nice wings, so take a look at what masking you can do with them if you feel so inclined as to not use any of the backplane wings). Oh and the wings don't have to be your standard angel configuration either (from the shoulder blades).

So guys, this week I want you to do a modern take on a God from some form of Mythology. This can take the form of doing a superhero version a-la Marvel's Thor or doing an everyday version, I don't much mind which. If you can think of some other way of modernising mythological deities then I'll be interested to see it, so don't go asking "is this ok". Just go with it. Most of you can tell ancient from modern right?

Of course there are some stipulations. 1. No Greek/ Roman Gods. They are obvious, cliche and I plan to do a contest on them at some point in the near future. 2. No Gods from any current major world religions. We don't want to offend anyone do we, even if offence isn't intended.
