Caption Contest 97

Sorry for the delay on this one folks!

With hearty thanks once again to Glenn3's "Say What? Pictures", your challenge this week is to come up with the best replacement dialog for this comics panel:

The best entry (as judged by yours truly) wins the author's choice of either any item they like or any portrait to be included in HeroMachine 3′s final release, or a custom black and white “Sketch of the Day” style illustration (you pick the subject, I draw it however I like).

All entries must be left as a comment (or comments) to this post. Keep ‘em clean (appropriate for a late-night broadcast TV show), but most importantly, keep ‘em funny! That might be a challenge given the nature of this week's panel, but I'm sure you can pull it off.

This week we have a cap of no more than five (5) entries per person, so make 'em your best!

Caption Contest 96 Winners!

Caption Contest 96: Squeeze me, Seymour!

With hearty thanks once again to Glenn3's "Say What? Pictures", your challenge this week is to come up with the best replacement dialog for this comics panel:

Caption Contest 95 Winner!

Many thanks to everyone who participated in Caption Contest 95, there were some really great entries. I had a hard time picking just one, as you can see from this list of Finalists I ended up with after reading through them all:

count libido: I told you not to hide under that elephant!
B. Clouser: Consider it this way: Cheap funeral.
B. Clouser: What do ya think this giant caption above us means? Oh.
Dan: We’ve got a McNugget incident! Get the Bar-b-que sauce!
joel: “WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT KEEPING MY VOICE DOWN?!”
Danny Beaty: It’s okay, you’re wearing a helmet!
Danny Beaty: I’d sure hate to be you!
Gargoyle323: “Rock breaks Scissors!”
Jester: Stop! He’s allergic to rocks!
JonnyDemon: Wow, pigs can fly!
Myro: “Quit whining Ted. A few rocks never hurt anyone.”
Joe: “I would help, but i bruise easily!”
alphaalpharomeo: The Hills are alive with the sound of music…..Oh wait that just Jim screaming.

But ultimately, I kept coming back to one joke in particular that tickled my very weird funny bone. And that entry is:

So congratulations to Jester for winning Caption Contest 95! Jester, let me know what you'd like for your prize using either the "Contact us" link at the top of the right column, or by leaving a comment to this post (or really, any post), or email me directly at afdstudios@gmail.com.

Thanks again to all of our Finalists, and again to everyone who took the time to enter!

Caption Contest 95: Buried Alive!

With hearty thanks once again to Glenn3's "Say What? Pictures", your challenge this week is to come up with the best replacement dialog for this comics panel:

The presence of the headline and narration box adds a little wrinkle to this one. Is the other fellow yelling words of encouragement? Mockery? Vengeful triumph? Only you can decide!

Caption Contest 94 Winner!

Thanks to everyone who participated in Caption Contest 94, I appreciate your willingness to share your creativity. I've chosen a handful of those entries as Finalists, the ones I thought were the funniest of the funny. After I've posted them all, I'll announced which of them is the winner. I hope you enjoy seeing them in the panel as much as I do!

Caption Contest 94: Incredible words!

With hearty thanks once again to Glenn3's "Say What? Pictures", your challenge this week is to come up with the best replacement dialog for this comics panel:

The presence of the headline adds a little wrinkle to this one. I can't wait to see what incredible words you come up with that have so stunned this attractive young lady!

No limit on the number of submissions beyond normal self-editing (i.e. don’t spam crappy entries hoping to get lucky), so good luck to everyone. Contest closes next Monday.

Caption Contest 93 Winner!

Thanks to everyone who shared their wit with us for Caption Contest 93! I've put together the Finalists after the jump, and then at the end I'll announce which of them is the overall winner.

First, though, I wanted to say "Welcome back!" to longtime poster Gargoyle323, who showed up to enter after a somewhat lengthy absence. Nice to have you back!

Second, although it was too long to fit in the balloon and thus is ineligible, I thought CPrime's Green Lantern homage was quite amusing:

In brightest day, in darkest dusk.
Captain Triumph does what he must.
Let those who worship evil recant.
Beware the Triumph… of my equestrian pants!

Now, on to your Finalists!

Caption Contest 93: Fleeing the Scene

With hearty thanks once again to Glenn3's "Say What? Pictures", your challenge this week is to come up with the best replacement dialog for this comics panel:

I love this panel. Why is Captain Triumph flying away from a burning building? Or is it filled with some other noxious substance, perhaps left on purpose by our jodhpur-wearing friend (I put the over-under on fart jokes this week at 17)? I can't wait to see what you all come up with! The best entry (as judged by yours truly) wins the author's choice of either any item they like or any portrait to be included in HeroMachine 3′s final release, or a custom black and white “Sketch of the Day” style illustration (you pick the subject, I draw it however I like)!

Caption Contest 92 Winner!

Many thanks to everyone who entered Caption Contest 92, there were as always some very funny entries. I've put together all the ones I thought were particularly inspired for your amusement, and will announce the winner at the end.
