Caption Contest 117: The Vow!

Your challenge this week is to come up with the best replacement dialog for this comics panel (which comes to us courtesy of the always awesome Glenn3's "Say What?" PhotoBucket site):

The best entry (as judged by yours truly) wins the author's choice of either any item they like or any portrait to be included in HeroMachine 3′s final release, or a custom black and white “Sketch of the Day” style illustration (you pick the subject, I draw it however I like).

All entries must be left as a comment (or comments) to this post. Keep ‘em clean (appropriate for a late-night broadcast TV show), but most importantly, keep ‘em funny!

We're going to mix it up this week and say there's no limit to entries, but please, self-edit and only put up ones you genuinely think are funny!

Caption Contest 116 Winners!

Many thanks to everyone who entered Caption Contest 16! I rounded up what I thought were the funniest submissions for this "Archie" comics panel:

And here they are!

  • Albannach: Hold that pose, I’ll get the camera!
  • Kaito94: “And I thought your mother was bad with electronics….”
  • Jason22274: Hmmm, looks like Veronica assigned him more “homework.”
  • Hammerknight: ”Good thing we bolted the TV to the wall.”
  • Vampyrist: Archie, Don’t go into the light
  • Dr. Shrinker: I told that boy a re-match was a bad idea.
  • Syntax: That’s an…Interesting safeword.
  • Myro: “I should remind myself not to throw out that lamp.”
  • Myro: “Archie, when I told you to turn that lamp on, I didn’t mean sexually.”
  • E350: Now, son, when I said you needed to ‘lighten up…’

It's tough to pick out just one, but that's why they pay me the big bucks. Oh, wait, I don't get paid any bucks any more ... oh well, the job still needs to be done. So therefore our winner is ... Myro!

Congratulations to Myro, and thanks again to everyone who brought the funny this week.

Caption Contest 115 Winners!

We had a ton of great entries for the last Caption Contest, featuring this charming gentleman:

Without further ado, here are the ones that I thought were particularly funny:

  • alphaalpharomeo: This one time a band camp I tried eating a tuba
  • Gero: “What? Do I have something in my tooth?”
  • MrMikeK: What do you mean I’m lyin’ to you through my tooth?
  • 1rd2th3st: "… Long story short, I really like taffy.”
  • TOOL: That’s the last time I make a bet against the Patriots.
  • The Atomic Punk: Just take the picture already. I don’t got no good side.
  • Mr.MikeK: If it wasn’t for the dental plan, I wouldn’t have Ol’ Chopper here!
  • TheNate: Four out of five dentists say you should brush after every meal. I had the fifth dentist.
  • spidercow2012: Jeff! Jeff! I seem to be seeing a strange and wonderful picture of the past!
  • Dan Gonzalez: Look, I know my online profile said I was an 18 year old cheerleader, but we’re here, so…
  • BenK22: Get punched in the face by Superman. We’ll see how you look.

There can be only one winner, however, and for that I choose ... 1rd2th3st! I still am chuckling over that one, so nice job!

Many thanks to everyone who entered and congratulations to both 1rd2th3st and all of our Finalists.

And here are your Winners!

  • Abraxas: Oh Santa, this is everything I wished for.
  • McKnight57: You realize, this puts you on MY naughty list right?

HM3: Tardis Control

I've just uploaded Watson Bradshaw's prize for winning Caption Contest 104, a Tardis-style control panel now available in Background-Standard:

Caption Contest 113 Winners!

Caption Contest 113 generated some of the funniest lines we've seen in a long time, filling in the missing dialog in this classic "Superman" cover:

Without further ado, here are the ones I thought were the funniest:

  • Mr.MikeK: Mutton Chop Powers Activate! Activate Dammit!
  • Nick Hentschel: “Well, that’s the end of THESE undies!”
  • Nick Hentschel: “Oh, no not DETROIT!!!”
  • GreenBat: I’ll never play Words with Friends again.
  • Worf: Wait! I haven’t told you the punchline yet!
  • DubbleYoo: So that’s why you never tug on Superman’s cape!
  • Joel: “So THIS is fourth class.”
  • William A. Peterson: But I haven’t learned how to MISS the ground, yet!
  • spidercow2010: THIS is the connecting flight?!
  • Lewis: “This is not statistically the safest was to travel!”
  • Myro: “Fine! You’re scarier than Batman! YOU’RE SCARIER THAN BATMAN!”
  • Niall Mor: These TSA pat-downs are getting way out of hand!

As you know, there can be only one overall winner, and this week I am going once again with ... Nick Hentschel!

I didn't honestly notice the line until Spidercow2010 pointed it out, so I thank him for that.

Thanks to everyone who entered, congratulations to all the Finalists, and Nick, let me know what you'd like for your prize!
