This poll has been very unusual. It was led for most of the week by someone who has won both polls he's been in this year and then basically overnight the person in second place jumps 25 votes to take a very comfortable victory. Now I'm not accusing anyone of anything (I can pretty much guarantee our winner wouldn't have cheated and I doubt our second place finisher would do so either, considering how the poll turned out), but you have to admit that there is something fishy about the result. All I can say is, if I do find out that someone is fixing the vote on any of these CDC polls, there will be consequences. If it is a contestant, then they are going to be banned from competing for 4 contests, and if it is an outside party then the polls are going period, and I'll just pick a winner. These contests are for fun, and people trying to skew the result in favour of one person takes away that aspect, not to mention if these contests were actually competitive, well, we all know how fixing a result is viewed in sport don't we.
But anyway, enough of that. Let's put the negativity aside now and get back to normal business. The winner of this weeks contest is DiCicatriz for his entry Threshold Transformation. Congrats DiCi and well done to everyone who entered.

God, you guys have no idea how hard it was for me not to make this a Characters Of The Week. I had 3 pics that I was planning to do this post on, but I thought that I'd have to be a bit unbiased for once, considering two of them were other peoples interpretations of my characters. So in the end I went with the one that I would have gone with otherwise. And it's a damn good one. Apparently Cliff didn't think this was good or interesting enough for the Heads Up contest last week… you're an idiot dude. This would have easily made the poll and I'd hope it would be in the lead at this point, because it is really good. Sure the shading and masking is a bit scruffy in some places, but it seems to suit some how. I especially like the shading on the lower lip and how you used a bow and insignia to fix up the top lip. I didn't actually notice it until I had it in large view for this post, so you get plus points for that. So, the moral of the story is, next time you do something for the contest and are wondering whether or not to enter it, just do it.

The title should give a pretty decent idea of what's going on with this contest. Simple, create a great background. You cannot include any characters in your entry, it's only the scenery I'm interested, so not even people in the background are allowed. Other than that, you have free rein as to what sort of background you can create, and don't feel restrained to just the backgrounds section, there's plenty in insignias and items-right to help here too, and that's just for a kick off.
As per usual, no limits on entries and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

I can't say I was expecting this result. Not trying to put down our winner or anything, but I thought it would be the person who came second who won. But then, my personal favourite came fifth, so what do I know. Still doesn't change the fact that this weeks winner (and deservedly so) is Vampyrist for his Ancient Armour. Congrats Vamp, and well done to all of the people who entered.

So, the first preview of the up coming series 9 of Doctor Who has been unveiled, so therefore I must give my opinions on what I want to see or do not want to see in the up coming series, as I did last year. Only this year, I've only got 3 points each instead of 5, because we've had a series to get used to how the new style of the show is, so therefore less to really talk about. Enjoy.

Ok, so this week, your focus in this challenge shall be heads, with particular focus on faces and hair. Now, a few additional rules for this weeks contest shall be in place, as with last week. No Masks or Hats, obviously, as that sort of defeats the whole point of the challenge, though hair accessories and jewellery are allowed. Also, all submissions must be headshots only, so you don't need to do anything below the shoulders. You can do non-human heads for this challenge (as I know someone will ask about this), just so long as it meets the other entry criteria. And yes, your character must have some sort of hair or facial hair, but don't just slap one of the standard hair items on the and call it a day. Be inventive.
