What Were They Thinking?: DC Does Dallas

In last weeks What Were They Thinking (the place where we take a look at all of the stupidest, most ill advised things in comic book history) we talked about Superman. And this week, we're going to be talking about... Superman, because why not. The Man Of Steel has been around longer than most and he has so many dirty secrets under that cape that we've barely scratched the surface. But with that in mind, this week we're going to be taking a look at the time he made a "specialist film for gentlemen" with the wife of fellow Justice League do-gooder type Mr Miracle, Big Barda.

The List: Ranking The Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies From Worst To Best

Well, the poll for this list threw up some very interesting and surprising results

Anyway, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going strong for 8 years now and has released a grand total of 14 films, with a further 3 to be released this year. Over those 8 years, Marvel have only failed to release a single movie in one year (2009) and are currently doing a turn around of 2 movies a year on average, to at the very worst moderate critical acclaim and huge financial reward, turning some of their second string characters (like Iron Man and Loki) into household names in the process. However, as with everything in life, the MCU isn't perfect. Whilst the MCU as a whole is of undeniable quality, some films are better than others. So this week, with the help of your votes, we have our list of the MCU films ranked worst to best.

What Were They Thinking: I Wish They’d Destroyed This

You know, one thing has surprised me about this weeks What Were They Thinking. In all the weeks we've done this feature, a feature where we look at the stupidest, most ill-advised things in comic book history, we have yet to look at DC's Elseworlds. You know, that imprint that they publish all of the stories that are too weird to be considered canon to DC continuity, which is saying something when it is canon that you can punch a whole in the fabric of the universe with just your fist. Admittedly some of the stuff in there is good, some even very good, but that doesn't mean there isn't dross. And what dross it is. So without further ado, I present to you Superman Wonder Woman: Whom Gods Destroy

Poll Position: Best X-Men Team Member

Ok guys, classic style poll for this week. Easy premise, who is the greatest member of the X-Men, past and present. We're including all characters who have been a part of the main X-Men team or one of the sub-teams such as X-Factor or X-Force. However, we are not counting characters like Magneto, Juggernaut, Deadpool or Spider-Man, because whilst they may have been a member of the team at some point they are more famous for their roles outside of the team as either villains or solo characters. As per usual, I have given you 10 characters to start and you can add your own suggestions, provided you give both the characters hero identity and real name.

The List: Another Top 10 Characters I’d Like To See In The DCEU

So, as promised last week, when I did Another Top 10 Characters I'd Like To See In The MCU, this week I'm focusing on the DCEU and characters I didn't mention the last time I did a list about who I'd like to see in the DCEU (so no Martian Manhunter, Nightwing, Batgirl or Ocean Master on this list). Problem is, the DCEU is so much harder to do than the MCU, because whilst Marvel have lots of established franchises at this point and TV shows that tie into the cinematic universe, DC only really has the Justice League characters and Suicide Squad whilst keeping their Films and TV Shows completely separate (and there's that whole aversion to origin stories thing they have). So I'm not going to suggest anything for TV because, honestly, keep the Arrowverse as far away from the DCEU as possible please. With that in mind, here are another 10 characters I'd like to see in the DCEU.

Poll Position: Ranking All Current MCU Films

So, first Poll Position of the new year. So it needs to be something special right? Well, as this year will see the release of 3 Marvel Cinematic Universe Films and edges us ever closer to Marvels end game of the Infinity War, why not do a poll to find out which MCU film people think is the best, and which is the worst. You can vote for as many films as you want once per day, obviously you can't add any films because I've included all of the current MCU films already so there's nothing to add.

What Were They Thinking: A Thor Point

So, it's a new year and as we all know, when there is a new year people often make resolutions as to what positive changes they are going to make over the coming year. And as What Were They Thinking is all about the worst things in the history of comics, I thought a good resolution would be to be more positive, not to focus on the negative so much. Unfortunately, I then remembered that Marvel Comics exist and, as much as I love them, they are the best at being the worst. So, with that in mind, I'd like to talk to you all about equality in comics, through the medium of The Mighty Thor.
