More Hall of Fame nominees

I'd like to add some more illustrations into the Hall of Fame, so I invite all of you to submit one nominee in the comments. But the trick is, you can't nominate yourself! Just add a link to the person's best illustration and why you think it's awesome. After it seems like the nominations are done I'll go through and pick out my favorites and add them into the Hall.

Thanks in advance for your expert opinion!

We’re a top art blog to follow!

It's just possible I have fallen for some sort of link scam, but there was a real human being talking to me, and some of the blogs listed here rock pretty hard, so for once I'll distrust my distrusting nature and just roll with it. So here's the list, featuring us at #21!

Products

It looks like I might be able to figure out how to get your character illustrations printed onto pretty much anything -- iPad cases, shirts, mugs, hats, playing cards, you name it -- through Zazzle.com. Basically I'd add more options to the "Export" screen, so you could either save it as an image (all the current stuff) or to a product. You'd pick the product, click go, and you'd be taken to a Zazzle page with your image on that product. Then you could order it any way you like.

My questions are:

  • First, is that something you would want;
  • Second, what kinds of items would you want as an option?

You can see all the options they have here.

Random sketches

I lost my digital tablet stylus, so I'm reduced to actual pencil, eraser, and paper. The ignominy! But, I hope you enjoy this sketch I did today regardless. I'm including the initial rough drawing as well as the finished pencils in case you're interested. On the computer I'd just do these in the same document in layers, trashing the rough when I was done. But since I'm now once again in the analog world, I had to use tracing paper for the finished version.

Make your own pulp covers!

Thanks once again to Ian Healy for the link. But if you are a pulp fiction fan, this cool website lets you make your own covers in a HeroMachine-like interface. Very cool!

Two nifty videos

First, via Friend of HeroMachine Ian Healy comes this very cool paper animation battle:

It's unfortunate that this is basically a "boys go violent over sexualized female object" kind of story but the animation and video game/comics elements are just awesome.

Second, Other Friend of HeroMachine Barbario has another of his super cool video game live-action trailers up. Enjoy!
