Bio:
Hank was born a mutant, his power manifesting at puberty. He discovered that he can emit scorching solar energy from his body, at any intensity he wishes. This power can be magnified to such a degree that Hank can essentially create a miniature sun between his hands (something he rarely does given its destructive power). When his power activates, his skin glows a bright yellow. After several years as a solo hero, Hank was recruited by Mr. Ultimate in 1994 to join the Hero Corps. He stayed on until early 2008, when Mr. Ultimate was tragically killed by the villainess Wasp. After that he retired from the Corps and from crimefighting altogether, and has since repressed his ability and the call of heroism.
