Great, now Internet Explorer 9 doesn’t want to do it either! Any idea what could be causing each browser to do it the first few times, but then stop working?

Using Chrome is aiding and abetting criminals. 
I avoid Google’s programs like the plague anyway, they’re just so darn invasive. Google Toolbar was installed on my laptop when I bought it – three years later there are still bits of it caught in the system, they don’t seem to understand the word “uninstall” so I had to delete it by hand. And every bit of the empire is constantly trying to refer you to the others, as if I needed anything else to confuse me about the computer…
