Magnus Maximus
A very close friend of Dr. Archer’s and and the team’s closest ally, is the mysterious Anomaly known simply as Elijah.
Elijah is one of the smartest and wisest men Dr. Archer knows, and is his greatest go-to for knowledge on Anomaly abilities. Born in 1750, Elijah fought against the British in the American Revolution, but tragically lost his life when he was stabbed in the heart during a duel with a British officer post-war. Elijah’s life changed forever when he burst back to life in the morgue, gasping for breath, with no pain and no trace of the fatal wound. He later discovered that he had the superhuman ability to heal from any wound. Further experiments, accidents, and discoveries led him to learn that he could also self-revive after death, not contract diseases or get drunk, and could even reattach and, sometimes, regrow, a missing limb or appendage. The most sobering of these new-found powers was the discovery that he also, by healing and rejection of disease, appeared to stop aging. He was forced to outlive everyone he loved: his wife, children, children’s children, grandchildren, even great-grandchildren. So as not to arouse suspicions, he would assume one identity after another, and whenever he was “killed,” he would again leave town, change his name, start over. He lived to see the invention of the car, the telephone, the computer, and so many other things we take for granted today. And with this long life he has lived came knowledge and wisdom; he has seen generation after generation of Anomalies all over the world. Pictured here is Elijah during what we today call the “Wild West.”
