Using state-of-the-art technology, the hero called Beacon is able to project blasts of light at varying intensities from his “Lumen Suit.” He can create a glow aorund his entire body which can light up the darkest corners of the earth. He can crate a brilliant flash that can blind his enemies. He can even concentrate the light much like a magnifying glass to make a beam of incredibly hot light, able to melt through just about anything. All of this was made possible through a program started by the company Brainstorm Industries in which ordinary citizens are paid hefty sums to test out various experimental pieces of equipment. If they show proficiency with the technology, they are then given the chance to change their lives and become superheroes. Beacon, once simply Jack Laraby, employee of the city, was one of the first.
