The Iron Maidens-

The Iron Maidens are an all-woman force dispatched to protect the Lonely Iron King, and to stop him escaping. Every single one of them must be willing to sacrifice themselves to his blade to prevent him from getting out. They couldn’t take him alone, but are there to hold him off for as long as possible.

And that’s about it, really.

Oh, and they have male counterparts called the Iron Shields.

Both of them function as cannon fodder.
