We are Guilty of it Valheim Valheim Valheim, it's all we've been hearing lately. This is a crime we're not guilty of, but other sites and content creators have covered the issue extensively and it's risen to new heights again. Less than one month since entering Early Access, Iron Gate AB and Coffee Stain Publishing have announced they've managed to sell 4 million copies. Not only that, Valheim managed to hit more than 500 million players online on February 21, which means more players were playing than there were actual Vikings in the history of mankind. Another interesting fact is that it places Valheim now in the top 5 of most played games on Steam ever. Gaming Crypto Other interesting details include the fact that the game has been played for "a total of 10,000 years" and continues to climb the Steam Top 250 leaderboard for the best reviewed games of all time and they've racked up over 92,000 reviews on Steam. This is absolutely insane. It is amazing and well-deserved. Fantastic to have a game that is so popular developed on and for Linux with full support. Iron Gate CEO Richard Svensson has previously made it clear in the official Discord for the game that they're a "pretty dedicated linux fan". Valheim was updated just recently. Here's what's new in the Valheim update. - Crafting item-dupe bug fix - Harpooned player & ship bug fix - Fixed player ragdoll - Bonemass,Moder,Yagluth difficulty tweaks - Moder music updated - Tombstone bugfix (probably wont fix disappearing tombstones though) - Fixed world corruption caused by pressing ALT+F4 while logging out. Deathsquitos now have slightly larger audio range. The audio has been tweaked on blast furnace and spinning wheel. - Shared map location settings are saved for each world. - Updated network stats. (F2) Build destruction drop-fix. - Vulkan support for Windows builds (Linux by default is Vulkan). - Network disconnection bugfix. Updated socket backend We discussed in our previous article about how it led to the LinuxGSM command-line game-hosting tool, to go through a massive growth. It's now increased from 500 servers hosted to more than 1,400, and it's still being a popular method to host games.
